DESCRIPTION:
WW - Gallet Flight Officer Pilot's chronograph, manual wind, 35mm x 43mm to lug tips, 18mm lug width, original stainless steel modular water resistant case secured by 4 screws, case with bi-directional 12 hour timing bezel and round pump pushers, brown leather strap, original silvered dial with luminous painted Arabic numerals, various different time zones along perimeter in black and red, inner snail style tachymeter scale, two inset subregisters for minute recording and subsidiary seconds, 17J, s#144794, triple signed. Famed as the model President Truman wore during his presidency, this was also quite popular during the war for aviators from the United States and England.
CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, chronograph functions and resets properly, nearly mint cosmetic mvt condition overall, hardly any oxide to steelwork; excellent dial with light surface spotting most notably along perimeter and on subregisters; excellent hands with lume repair on minute hand; polished case shows very light wear, no dents or dings; crown shows very little wear; good plastic crystal.
